the girls
It's hot and sluggish on the farm. The girls are spending the bulk of their days lingering under the evergreens or splayed out in the barn in front of ever-humming fans. After a bustling spring filled with hoof trimming, shearing, dental care and general ovine maintenance things have slowed to a lazy midsummer pace.

This animal changed my life
... an animal can, you know.
She launched an adventure, a new career and a sweet, simple way of life.
I have known her for nearly 20 years and loved her too. Today she came to rest, no longer burdened by the aches and pains that come with such an age.
But oh, she was wonderful wasn't she?

the calm before the storm.
There is another storm on its way.
It's good to see that everyone on the farm is eating well so that we can all nestle in when the snow flies.
Keep warm my friends.

Tucked in For Winter
Here is Hazel Nut the Angora goat. She's been groomed, primped and primed for winter. Nail clipping and shearing are not her favourite activities.
(Read she will try to eat you alive if you attempt the above. Hard to believe isn't it?)
Despite her discontent with the process Hazel Nut is always happy to settle in with her warm winter gear.
When all is said and done she is back to her congenial self.
