Lucy's Workshop

Lucy of "The Wooly Mason Jar" came out to demonstrate her fabulous colour matching dye technique for wool swatches and natural yarns. Lots of happy folks on their way home to create custom dyed, hand-hooked rugs.
Life is good.

the Wooly Mason Jar

“THE WOOLY MASON JAR” DYE WORKSHOP
With Lucy Richard
SATURDAY MARCH 15
at London Wul Fiber Arts 11-4

The purpose of this demonstration is to simplify how we dye our wool by using ONLY the 3 Primary Colors (& a little brown) – to make ALL the beautiful colors on the color wheel and their 8 values.

I will be demonstrating this procedure and also have a hands on for those who would like to give it a try. You will be impressed and pleasantly surprised how EASY and ENJOYABLE dyeing can be.

For those of you who have “been there” “done that”; NO you haven’t! It’s a NEW approach and a method developed for people (like me) who have trouble understanding the color wheel. By going back to basics and using the Red, Yellow and Blue primaries you will learn how to make all colors you want and understand how to use them.

For anyone who has been reluctant to try dyeing, this is for you.

For teachers, this is an excellent teaching tool.

The 8 Value swatch carded color guide showing all the beautiful colors, plus the tints, tones and shades are written on each card. No need for a dye book.

Also available are dye spoons (smidgen/pinch/dash/) and
a set of ladles.

Bring your enthusiasm to class! Nothing else required.

It’s new, its exciting, its fun. See you at our presentation.
