SHOPKEEP

This month I have taken on the role of shop keep at london-Wul.
I am buzzing around the shop, tidying, tagging and best of all chatting with all who come along. I have been managing the shop from my place in the studio for several years now. This as opposed to the front role that I first played when the business was starting out.
It is lovely to be in the thick of things again, speaking with all of our visitors and helping out with project details, questions and color quandaries. For 10 years London-Wul has been my work in progress. Now I am enjoying this time spent in sharing the experience with our customers.
That being said, I am very fortunate to have a great support team, first and foremost the girls who help in the shop with all of the day to day activities. As the schedule would have it, both Sherri and Linda have taken some time to attend to life in general - as is good to do. I will be relieved in their return as the summer moves into full swing though, for the moment I will enjoy being right smack in the middle of it all!:)

Drop-in Knitting Clinic
Project planning and instruction for: Completely new knitters- new sock knitters- new sweater knitters.

Landscape Felting with Heidi Wulfraat

This workshop is tailored to the beginner felter. Choose from kits available and discover the materials and techniques that will allow you to develop your own repertoire of felted works. Explore design and color elements, the “mood” of landscape, and the effective use of embellishment.
Heidi has created a new series of felted designs now patterned and available as kits for your exploration.“ I like to begin by working on a water color “sketch” of the image that I have in mind. These paintings are then translated to a felted medium. It’s a good fit for me. Both watercolor and felt flow with a certain ease of motion which can take you in a direction that you may never have expected!”
Min 5 participants, bring your group, booking are on-going

Learn to Spin
Want to give a spinning wheel a whorl?
Instructor Heidi Wulfraat has been producing natural fibres and hand spinning as a profession for the past 14 years. Her spinning instruction will gently walk you through the mechanics of a spinning wheel, the character and preparation of natural fibres, the qualities and structure of yarn. You will spin various fibres and fibre preparations in single and two ply fashion.
$95.00 instruction fees, students will be registered upon payment.

Equipment available or bring your own wheel.
For maximum attention this workshop is open to a limited number (1 – 3 students per class).

Weaving on a Simple Loom
Practice the basics of weaving on a rigid heddle loom. Choose your materials and create a complete project during this full-day workshop. Create your own yarns using this ancient technique. Learn to understand how different fibres function, how to spin, ply and set your handspun skein of yarn.
