HAPPY NEEDLES
.... Our new needles have been making everyone smile. They are so much fun I admit to have added a few pairs to my own collection as well.
The good news is that we have just received a fresh assortment as well as some fabulous stitch markers to match.

STARLING TOES AND FIREFLYS
... more on starlings and stitching this week.
This piece was developed from a little painting that I had worked into my sketchbook.
Is it a strange cropping? I have been told that it is. My thought was that little bird feet are so beautiful and intriguing that it would be nice to do a little foot "study".
Or perhaps this is simply a mysterious moonlit starling who chooses to remain anonymous.

MORE ON SPINNING
... there has been much spinning at London-Wul of late. By the end of this weekend I sent students forth with spindles and fibre, wheels dancing in their heads and freshly spun skeins in hand. I love teaching spinning, probably because I can remember the thrill of learning to spin yarn as though it were yesterday. In solidarity with my new spinners I have been working at the wheel myself, preparing hand spun skeins to meet the dye pot.

SPINDLESPUN
My new little Turkish spindle has been both a source of amusement and distraction this week.
What a little gem this is. ...very hard to stop playing with it once you get started! A special thanks to Threads Thru Time , a beautiful little shop where you can purchase your very own Turkish spindle. Best of luck in deciding which color to choose! They are all so wonderful.

HEAPS OF HANDSPUN
I have been spring cleaning, rearranging and generally sprucing up the shop this week.
In doing so I realize that I have spun a heck of a lot of yarn by hand. All of my wheels are working very hard and earning their keep. Well, Yay for me - I need another wheel don't you think? Yup, ordered the special edition 30" production wheel by Ashford. Oh happy day!
